Kiawah

Harbor View Elementary Kindergarten took at field trip to Kiawah. The whole family was invited so we made a day of it! The children got to collect interesting finds on the beach and got a lesson from the naturalist's about all the cool stuff they found. Rhett managed to find the neatest thing, a giant conk with a living snail inside (official name forgotten). They also got to pet some snakes, alligators, and cheer on some turtles in a race. After a picnic lunch with the class and some playground time, we ended the day with a trip to the strawberry patch. Dinner was fresh catch of mahi-mahi David so proudly brought home followed by delicious strawberry shortcake, of course!

Our Nature Preserve

Headquarters Island has been full of interesting wildlife this spring. We have had weekend guests of big turtles, baby turtles and recently, a visit from the local hawk. Upon close inspection, we realized the hawk was stalking his prey ... a pretty large snake slithering through the yard. This was the first of many snakes we have now seen over the last week or two... One of which was a water moccasin, kind of scary, - luckily that one was on the other side of the neighborhood, and hopefully stays there!
A Sunny Day!

Bella's Birthday

Backyard Bandits

Rhett and Remley have been very lucky to have a best friend and neighbor, Bella Swanson living right behind us. As long as the weather cooperates, these three amigos can be found playing together outside. It's hard to believe she was only 4 when we moved in and is now SEVEN! Time flies! The kids had a grand ol time at her birthday party at Blackbeard's Cove where they played miniature golf, and panned for gems. Happy Birthday to the third member of the Backyard Bandits!

Should we call an ambulance?

Rhett had a little spill and tripped over a chair while at school. I was pretty frantic on the way to pick him up, not knowing how bad it was. We decided to take a trip to our favorite medical center, Nason, just to be sure everything was ok. He also has had a pesky rash I figured they could check out. Going there is actually quite a fun event for us all, as they offer drinks, snacks and toys and there is never longer than a 5-10 min wait to be seen by the actual doctors! Luckily, everything was fine and Rhett enjoyed a popsicle, popcorn and a little cartoons from this hospital bed. (Found out the rash was 5th disease and would pass soon with no need for treatment). Hopefully, we wont be back for some time!

Great Uncle Timmy

This weekend we had a welcome visit from the Great Uncle Timmy! Of course the kids had fun playing with him, as I think he's still a kid at heart:).

Since little Vera did not attend the prom, I thought I would post some recent pictures of her.

Prom!

Rhett's preschool hosted a family PROM! It was held in the Captain's Room at Bohicket Marina. The theme was "under the sea" and it had lovely views of the water. The kids had so much fun and it was definitely my best prom experience!

My Dog Needs a Jacket

My husband took Truman to the groomer. Remley tagged along to play "littlest pet shop" since David had to stay to help the groomer (another story). Anyway, just like a man to want to get his money's worth because the is how my pooch came home. He looks cold to me!
