Cheers!

Cheers!

To celebrate our anniversary, we took the boat to California Dreaming for dinner where we both enjoyed prime rib. A scenic cruise home completed the day!

Copper gifts seemed hard at first, but using our creative juices, I think we both did pretty well!
I gave David a copper and steel watering can, filled with copper ear buds and a blue tooth speaker (which happened to be in a copper colored box).

Seven years later, David has also gotten in the spirit of obsessive themes and was creative in his wine gift and bag of pennies (year 2006) - which were supposed to be presented to me in none other than a Copper Mountain tote bag. The bag has a 100 year warranty and I am sure (had it arrived in time) - it was going to include with a crafty note saying something clever like "a 100 years would be too few, to carry all my love for you..." (so true!!) but it seems their leather tannery had a holdup and so I still anxiously await receipt of this special item!

For David

Seven years ago, I made the best decision of my life. I married my best friend who also happened to be strikingly handsome, super intelligent, and an all around nice guy. Our lives have changed so much, so quickly ... and we have done so many wonderful things, the highlight of course being we have built a beautiful home and FILLED it with three spectacular kids. There have been new jobs, new challenges, new friends, preschools and real schools, diapers and sleepless nights, many firsts, new neighbors, new babies... weeks in Edisto, ski trips, vacations to Orlando, Memphis, the Dominican Republic, Colorado, Niagara Falls, the Bahamas. We have done so much! The Lord has blessed us so.

Daily, I am amazed at our life and am so very thankful for you, husband, who has made it all possible. You have grown into such an involved father, and a true partner whom I can count on. You have exceeded all expectations and I am honored and proud to be your wife. So, as we celebrate seven years and our "copper" anniversary I just wanted to say Thank You.

I thought about the look of patinated copper, and how it is highly desirable. People have tried to recreate it and will even pay a lot of money for the look, which can only truly be achieved with time. Like that copper, I think our life and love will contnue to become even better. With you by my side, I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

All my love, all my life,
Shayna

Rhett's 5th Birthday

As always, I have so much fun planning the children's birthdays! I try to make every detail tie back to whatever theme I have agonized over and finally chosen. This year, we went with the sports theme since Rhett has REALLY gotten into them. He started with tennis lessons, then basketball and just finished up his baseball season. To start the theme, I created the invitations...
While I had a lot of fun making them, it seems more people respond to Evites (sadly) so the days of invitation making for me may be dwindling...hence the plethora of pictures (sorry!)
We are Throwing a Party...
Please Join us for Rhett's Fifth Birthday
I made a few...
We invited quite a few people this year, mostly neighbors and a few friends. I am pleased to say we had a pretty good turn out with about 30 kids and 40 adults!

I am FIVE!
We started out the birthday morning by opening a few presents from us and Bubby, GG, and Moe Moe who came over early. It was then off to Rhett's last baseball game, followed by an end of the year pizza party at their sponsor, Pizanno's Pizza.

The party got "kicked-off" about 5pm and when most guests arrived, we started an official soccer game, complete with a marked field and jerseys for teams (Thanks T.J and Christi!)
Kickin' it!
Next up, was some dunk booth action. It was originally rented to put some neighborhood dad's in (as I was worried about safety) - but surprisingly, the kids were the ones that ended up playing the most in it!
Aim, Fire, DUNK!
Dunked!
We also had a surprise visitor planned for Rhett, non other than our Motor Cross neighbor, Ryan Reeves. Ever since Rhett got his own dirt bike this past Christmas, he has really looked up to him and was thrilled to watch him do tricks around the field!

Mother's Day

What a nice Mother's Day I had! The weather was perfect and it was our inaugural boat and beach trip. Vera did well with both. The only problem was that a GIANT ghost crab decided to run into our tent!

My funny guy

What's the silliest thing your mom does? "One time she went to this party with a silly hat and the winner of the party gets chocolate but she didn't win she got "two-th" place"
