Feelin' Lucky!

We got a dog!
No one will ever replace my Truman, but we decided it was time to work on fixing the hole in our hearts ( and destroying our new home!!). Enter Lucky! We were scheduled to pick him up on St. Patrick's Day,  hence the name!
He was a good car rider for 3 hours from North Carolina.
Super cute little guy!
Welcome to our family!

Ski!!!

During the long weekend, we took a trip with friends the VandeWiel's to Sugar Mountain. The kids participated in Ski School one day while the grown-ups tackled the big slopes. We also spent a day tubing and did some night skiing with the kids who did GREAT! We got some real snow while we were there and had a great time. I am already making plans for next year!

NYC!!

Right after Christmas, we flew off to New York City to celebrate Jamie's 40th birthday. It was a surprise trip for her and a surprise to see her BFF and family there! It was a very busy couple of days, with sightseeing, shopping, and of course lots and lots of eating. David and I stayed in Times Square, a midst all the hustle and bustle. We saw Rockefeller Center, Grand Central, and the Rockettes Christmas Extravaganza. We also walked around Central Park to the place we were married almost 9 years ago. We can always say we were in Times Square on NYE, though I am happy to report we left by noon and made it home in time to celebrate on good 'ol Johns Island.
Not a day over 30!

Happy Birthday, Jamie!

2014 Christmas

What a busy busy time the holidays were this year! Christmas came and went, seemingly before we knew it! The kids enjoyed spending time with both sets of grandparents as well as Aunt LaLa, Uncle John John, and Uncle Bill. God was good to us this year and there was much to celebrate, most importantly the meaning of the season and the love of friends and family.

Vera Turns Two!

SOMEHOW our baby turned two! It has been such a wonder to watch her grow and blossom and become a little person with a huge personality. Vera had added so much joy to our life. As if there was some before, there is never a dull moment. Some of her favorite things these days include spaghetti, lollipops and balloons. She is talking in full sentences and was happy to announce, "Its my birthday, I have some presents !" On her special day, David and I took her for her first visit to the aquarium. While she was somewhat interested in the fish, she was just as entertained watching the kids from the 4 schools there on field trips! We met Papa for lunch at a Italian bakery and pizzeria downtown and then decided to skip our nap. This made for one tired party animal. The cousins came over and we had a great time!

Just for fun, I dressed Vera in the same dress Remley wore on her second birthday. It was fun to see how similar and yet how different they looked!

Angel Tree

This year, we wanted to emphasize the importance of giving, so we hosted a neighborhood Angel Tree. We are happy to say that we were able to help over 40 families and are hopeful to do more next year. We had a small party for everyone as they dropped off the gifts. The next day, David delivered them all to the facility and had to pull a trailer full of bikes. I'd say it was a success!
