Easter 2011

Wow! What a week-- The egg hunts started last Saturday. First, Remley and Rhett hunted for eggs along with their school friends at the Island School's annual Easter egg hunt. The hunt was held a working farm where the Palmetto Carriage Company houses the horses that pull the carriages when they are not working.

The next hunt was at McKenna's house, and was with all of the neighborhood kids.

Another hunt, mid-week, put on by cousin Peyson and Aunt Tracey before they returned to Buffalo. Friday we took a visit to have our picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Saturday, we traveled to "Bunnies and Bluegrass" on Wadmalaw to Irwin Vineyard and Sweet Tea distillery. We spent the afternoon under the Live Oaks, listening to music and hunting more eggs.

Sunday, the Easter bunny stopped by- and after we opened everything in the Easter baskets, we went to church to celebrate the true meaning of Easter. The Lord is risen! He is risen indeed!

Hippity, hoppity

Easter's on its way!!!

Remley has been talking about how much she loves school, so today, she is staying all day from 8:30-3:30. She was so excited to pack her lunch and blanket and was looking forward to spending the day with her teachers and friends. One whole day a week she is being a big girl, just like real school!

Additional, last Friday, Rhett "decided" to send his pacifiers to the "little babies that need them" - after realizing they were "broken" (I snipped the tips) - so we are on day 5 of big boy life.

No more diapers, no bottles, no pacifiers, no naps.... No more babies here :(. Life is good though, we are enjoying every minute of every phase they are in!!

Since it was just us two today, Rhett and I went expoloring around the neighborhood doing "boy stuff." Rhett drove his tractor to the creek and we sat on the dock and watched all the crabs and fish. We also found a bulldozer and stopped for a ride.

On our way home, Rhett stopped to pick a dandelion and said, "I wish I had Remley back." So sweet!

Dos Presidentes, Por Favor

We just returned from a much needed and much enjoyed vacation to the Dominican Republic. The trip was taken in honor of Lacey's 30th birthday last fall. The flight there was a little rough, but we arrived safely to the Punta Cana airport, or air hut, rather, as it is just one big tiki hut!

~~~~~Happy Birthday Lacey!~~~~~~
The beaches and palm trees were breathtaking with white sand and blue waters. And the women were beautiful, too :).
A wild time was had by all!
Some of us took a fishing charter several miles off shore in the hopes of catching Blue Marlin.
The view was incredible and the experience memorable....
We saw whales! Lots of them! Blowing air and coming out of the water.
Unfortunately, these were the only fish we saw that day :(
We had a great time with Justin and Ashley Herbst, Season and Jason Flowe, Lacey and Mickey Antley, Patrick and Stephanie Kisgen, and Amy Rolland.
Til next year, amigos -- CHEERS!
Anyone Want to Dance?
 Remley has been enjoying ballet and tap class this spring. Her dance school puts on a yearly recital in June and she loves her beautiful blue dress that she will get to wear on the big "down stage," as she calls it. This year, they are dancing to the song Teddy Bear's Picnic. She recently had class pictures taken and these are a few from the "getting ready" that day.
Lil Leprechauns
The children enjoyed celebrating St Patrick's Day as much as their parents. Here are a few pictures taken at school, where they ate green cupcakes and had shamrock fun!
