Happy Birthday Cannon!

After surviving the first week of school, we celebrated Cannon's 6th birthday at an indoor trampoline park and at the pool. It was HOT! 115 with the heat index! Happy birthday, big guy!

Also, here a few random pictures taken recently. The ones below are of our last night on  James Island before the big move 8 miles to Headquarters.
Vera usually runs from the camera and it is quite rare I get a good smile shot. This one may be the best yet! She's a wild one!

Back to school!

Just in the nick of time, we started our move on Thursday (Aug 18) and had a few days to get settled before school started bright and early Monday morning. We also have a brand new school and a brand new hour earlier start time. Phew! The first week was rough and we are still trying to settle in to our new routine. Here are the kids posed at thier "lockers" in the mud room on the first day. Pretty sure they are sleep walking!!
Rhett is in Ms. Mcqueens class and Remley is in Ms. Rodgers.

Movin on up...

We have moved! Somehow through a crazy summer, builder/contractor/husband did it and we now lay our heads in our beautiful new house. It was a very long road to get here, but we survived! While there are still things to be done and much needed decoration, it seems like home. Did I mention there were 11 neighborhood kids running around in here? Ah, home sweet home!

Edisto 2014

We just returned from a relaxing week at Edisto with MiMi and Mikey, Auny Jamie and Uncle Eric and cousins Cally and Cannon. The kids has so much fun playing with each other and the most difficult daily decisions consisted of beach or pool? We did get a good bit if rain and spectacular lightening storms, but eveyone was just glad to be together.

Cuteness

Vera has really started communicating and her little expressions are so cute. She is a feisty little thing though, often pulling you around, quite strongly, if you don't quite understand what she's saying. Right now, she loves to "co co pic sure"  (color a picture), "do shapes", and loves babies. She wants to hold every one she sees saying "hold chew" (hold you) and putting her little hands out. Her spacial skills must be a little like mine though, because she thinks that she can hold things, even in pictures. Here she is this morning yelling "Hold Chew" while trying to hold the baby (her) in the picture.
See the look of determination!
This is going to be my strong Willed child.
Every time I hand her something, she has caught on (to what I say) and says "here go". She's quite personable, often waving and yelling Hi at strangers, but even more eagerly, waving Bye Bye as she loves to either go or for others to go! While she is talking in whole sentences, it seems her favorite word is still NO.
She is always is on the go, and literally runs away when she sees a camera coming after her, so getting a good picture of her still has been impossible. Most turn out like this!

Niagra Falls Reunion

During the week of the 4th of July, Vera took her first plane ride as we all flew to NY to join in the Lunsford/Rotella family reunion.

It's was actually Aunts Janice, KiKi, Lisa and Jaquie first time meeting her! We were real tourists one day and did Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist.
There was lots of time for playing with cousins, fireworks, and of course lots and lots of good eating!!
The kids and I ran a little road race on the 4th of July before the big parade.
