Another one bites the dust

So as of this summer, Remley lost both front teeth. And they keep on coming. Another one gone! We are up to 6!

Flowe Family Fun come to Keep up w the Johnson's

As always, we had a fab time this weekend with the Flowe family. It was a perfect last weekend in the sun before "fall" arrives next week. Season brought me some decor, so it actually inspiredme to  decorate for the "season" (ha) when she left! We had a great time - beach, pool and boat - even though the weather kept threatening. Season and I enjoyed some time to ourselves and the kids all played great together! If only we got to do it more often...
Fun, but very tiring for some! Vera slept for 4 hours like this!
She also has been standing on her own!

September Already?

School is back in action and its daily homework, reading, and getting back into a routine. This also coincided with Mom (me) going back to work, so things have been a little hectic to say the least. Thank God Mr. Mom has a fabulous job that allows us the flexibility to make it all work out (and hes a much better grocery shopper than me!). Vera crawls around everywhere constantly pulling up and down on anything she gets to and constantly finds little no'no's to put into her mouth. So, never a dull moment around these parts! We have still found time to play with friends and enjoy the sunny days of the end of summer.

Remley, Rhet, Jack and Sam at the Park
Not surprisingly, both children are very opinionated when it comes to their hair and dress every day. Mother and daughter most certainly do not agree on clothing choices, with approximately 8 outfits a day coming on and off Remley. She likes the layered look and prefers to wear leggings under shorts, with tanks, t-shirts and jackets. Did I mention its still summer in Charleston? Anyway, Rhett's newest way to display his originality is the Mohawk. Hes cute no matter what, huh?!

Oh! And September inevitably means another year older for some of us. I celebrated my birthday at The Alley this year. Pretty cool spot downtown Charleston, bowling, games, and a huge bar/restaurant. Then of course there was cake!

Happy 35, Mom!
And then, 3 days later, we celebrated Ginny's birthday with a grown-up night out. Dinner and drinks, waterfront!
Cheers!

September 7th also marked the infamous Mud Run. Oh yes, for some reason, I thought back in April that it would be a great idea to participate in a mud run, on a farm, next to the marsh, in 100 degree weather. At high noon. Did I mention MARSH and FARM? Neither of which smells good on a nice day, much less the dog days of summer, and we crawled through it all. Mud. Muck. Yuck. Crabs. Oyster beds. And plenty of farm droppings. The challenges were tough, but we made it and are "something" because of it. Maybe scarred would be appropriate. Nice bonding experience for husband and wife, I suppose and the bucket list is one item shorter.

Last challenge, carry your partner to the finish line!
THE END
What a prize!
September 7th weekend we also celebrated Cannon's birthday with a pool party and pizza! Happy Happy to all!
FIVE!
