You are my (early morning) sunshine...
My early bird. Little Rhett, oh, why oh why must you wake before dawn, even on Saturday and Sunday?! Sweet Remley will sleep in until 9 if we let her! I really can't complain, because each morning Rhett has been excited to complete one of his "chores" - making his bed! So proud of him!

David-Palooza
Since I had to work all day on Friday (David's birthday proper)- we took the opportunity to celebrate starting Thursday. Living in SC occasionally has some downsides, but being able to boat on March 15 is definitely a plus! We traveled to Wolf Island, a new place for us to explore. For the first time, the kids finally got to climb a tree! Huge, giant sprawling Oak trees, with wide limbs, draped on the ground.
Friday we hit the town - joined by Jamie, Eric and Mr. Joey.
Happy Birthday to David!

Bling Bling
Soooo..... for her 5th birthday, Remley wanted to get her ears picerced. Since we were in the Bahamas, David was not comfortable with this, so the opportunity in the USA finally presented itself!
Even after I explained that it may hurt, and that it was a huge responsbility to take care of, not to mention I was terrified - Remley kept assuring me, "Mom, I promise, I am READY!"
So... we found ourselves at the mall one afternoon, and she did it! Remley was so brave. She climbed right up onto the chair, smiled politely, the ladies marked her ears, and BAM!, it was done! Remley didn't even flinch! No ouch, no jump, and certainly no tears! When I hugged her and told her how proud I was, she said, "Mom, I TOLD you I was ready!!"

Rhett
We recently attended a benefit for a friend of a friend that was injured in a car crash last December. The theme was Hawk Rock - hence the mohawks, which Rhett loved. He also had his first big boy taste of Home Team BBQ, which as you can see was a big hit. Note the intensity and the serious expression on his face as he shovels it in! The next day for "break fix" he asked specificlly for more HOME TEAM BBQ!
Just some other random cute pictures...
Remley Turns Five (again!)
So, after we returned from the Bahamas, we wanted Remley to have a proper party. This years theme was "painting" so the party was at The Artist's Loft, a local art studio. Her closest friends came and everyone painted a special self-portrait. Happy Birthday Remley!
Remley, Bella, Rhett, Jackie, Malain, Cally, Cannon, Rhett, Elle, Jade, Victoria and Izzy (not pictured) came and made the day very special!
That evening, Mimi took the girls to Mary Poppins. After a short snooze during the begining and a dose of M&M's, Remley enjoyed the show!
Bahamas 2012
I am so sorry blog. I have failed you once again. I have taken some time off and will briefly try to catch you up to speed and try, try, try to be better about updating you. Now that I have my fancy new iPhone 4s, this should be much easier so I am just out of excuses... Now, on to the the updates!
Christmas came and went (lots of fun!) and NYE was spent ringing in the New Year with the Avett Brother and friends The Hammonds, Quades, and Spearmans in Greenville.
Next, came Remley's birthday. She brought dougnuts to school for her class on Friday morning and that afternoon we headed off to board the cruise ship and sail to the Bahamas!
The first day (Saturday, her birthday proper!) was spent at sea. We had a mini-party for her after breakfast and then spent the day on deck, lounging in the sun. That night was formal night, so we all got fancy and the dining room sang to her as they brought her a cake.
During the next 2 days we visted Nassau, where we had planned to interact with the dophins. Unfortunately, Remley wasn't feeling well and the water was ice cold. Rhett and I did brave it long enough for a picture! In Freeport, we toured around and played on the beach.
It was certainly a nice time spent with my parents, with someone to cook and clean for us for five whole days. Here are some pictures of the trip. I am scared we set the bar high a little high
for a 5 year old birthday!
